Human Resources Plus, Inc. was founded in 2003 and provides affordable resources and services supporting businesses in achieving their goals through effective human capital. Their services include consulting, outsourcing and an online membership program. They recently launched the online membership program which is what we will be doing marketing for.

The membership program consists of two levels of service, and their members can access a wide range of information online and off. Members get answers to questions, sample forms, toolkits, and even a forum to exchange ideas about current business issues. They also offer members live guidance to assist with any additional business challenges.

Both levels of membership requires an annual upfront payment. All clients have been incredibly happy with the memberships they have purchased and were very willing to give stellar testimonials. We are very picky with who we take on as clients. Our business model is and always has been based on performance and we put up our own money to fund the campaigns we work on. Since one of the founders is family, it was important to have the testimonials before pursuing the business relationship. We like to help, but we are never shy of telling someone that their product or service isn’t ready for market.

We feel that doing a lead generation campaign will be most effective in building up their list of members. We have our landing page ready, containing dynamic elements that we can adjust via a/b testing and lining up our traffic. We’ll be sending leads realtime as well as publishing a phone number during business hours. After seeing the system and the current happy customers who gave non-incentivized testimonials, we are incredibly excited to be working with Human Resources Plus, Inc.

If you have a higher priced service that’s new or does not have a strong brand in your geo or demo.. you may encounter issues converting a sale online. We have found that doing branded targeted lead generation can create a great flow of business. Currently we are working on a project where an annual commitment and upfront payment is required. In this case there are two levels starting at $360/yr for the basic plan and a $1500/yr plan that includes live access to a professional. We’ve decided to do lead generation and work with their sales team to close the sales.

On this particular project we are paid per closed sale. Normally we don’t operate under this arrangement, but we have a strong relationship with the company, trust their ability to sell, and have solid tracking in place. Those three factors are critical for the longterm success of any campaign where the marketer is paid per sale from leads generated.

To start we’re going to make a few branded landing pages that have some dynamic elements for A/B testing. We’re going to be collecting leads via webforms as well as publishing a tracked toll-free number. We like to use hostednumbers.com for getting our phone numbers. Hostednumbers reporting is great and they can link up with Google Analytics.

Screenshot of a report I generated for one of our campaigns using a local and toll-free number.

Since we aren’t using a virtual receptionist to take info before transfering, we would normally get a unique inbound number from them to transfer our calls to. It’s easier to match up reports and helps avoid situations like “they called us directly” or “we’re not sure who that came from”, etc.

For traffic we are going to begin with PPC (search) using Adwords, Adcenter, and Yahoo. The leads we generate will be sent realtime to the sales team as well as entered into our autoresponder that will send out follow up emails attempting to do a close online. We will publish the tracked phone number again, too. We made sure that we’ll be the only ones emailing the lead with follow ups to avoid the prospect getting annoyed.

Once we have a good conversion rate on our landing page (leads and sales), we’ll start incorporating other sources of traffic and increase our spend.

I am very optimistic about the success of this program. Their services are of great value to small business owners. I will give more details and updates as we progress with the project.

Macs are cool.. the interface is beautiful, the machines are sleak.. but lets face it.. if you have a Mac you are missing out on some great software. Not to say owning a Mac is a bad thing, but the amount of software available for it is miniscule when compared to Windows. What do you do if you have a sleak new Macbook but need to run some software (like a killer new game or some business software) that is only available on PC? You get Parallels 5 for Mac.

It’s pretty damn cool. Check out this video:

Parallels has come a long way and I’m sure will continue to get better. You can learn more on our Parallels Desktop 5 page. There you can grab the trial and save $10 instantly when you purchase.
